Free class teaches women to lift weights

A free weekend weights class for women is looking to raise funds for the Women’s Resource Centre.

Organised by Studio One personal trainers Randy Brangman and Nicole Rozon, the 30-minute class will serve as an introduction to a new programme on offer.

The programme involves resistance training and core fitness, emphasising proper form and technique, and is “accessible to women at all fitness levels to improve their health and wellbeing,” a provided release said.

“We are introducing the Lift For Charity Programme to help women gain strength not only physically but mentally,” Ms Rozon said.

“The six-week course will empower women to make changes in every aspect of their lives as mothers, daughters and caregivers.”

The donation to Women’s Resource Centre will help those “still fighting barriers, physical and mental,” Ms Rozon said.

“We recognise there are women that are still fighting for themselves and their family.

“We are providing not only physical training but the resources to help them lead a better life.”

The class takes place on Saturday morning at 9.30am at Studio One, located at 1 Victoria Street.
