Transmission equipment for West End

Digicel Bermuda has submitted multiple planning applications to erect temporary transmission equipment in the West End for the America’s Cup.

According to planning documents, Digicel is hoping to place a temporary “cellular tower on wheels” with associated cellular transmission equipment at both 1 Cockburn Road and 41 Malabar Road in Sandys.

Meanwhile, a third application has been submitted to temporarily install a 40ft Belco pole and transmission equipment on Hawkins Island in Warwick.

All three applications state that the installations are intended to be in place for the duration of the America’s Cup.

Planning documents for all of the applications are available for public viewing at the Department of Planning offices in the Dame Lois Browne-Evans building.
