Repairs to Flatts Bridge will probably take place next week, a Bermuda Government spokesperson said.

The work “should take place next week as crews are awaiting the arrival of materials to carry out the necessary works”, the spokesperson with the Ministry of Public Works added.

Crews were scheduled to erect barriers yesterday to “make the area safer”. Photographs taken by The Royal Gazette yesterday morning showed two wood railings missing from a section of the bridge. It was not immediately clear how long the railings had been missing.

According to the Ministry spokesperson, all railings along the bridge should be replaced sometime later this year. A specific date for completion of the work was not provided.
