Cabinet Building to reopen by mid-July

The Buildings Section of the Department of Public Lands and Buildings were recently recognised for their work restoring the Cabinet Building.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Public Works said that construction work on the building are complete, and it should be furnished and occupied by mid-July.

In a ceremony organised by the Bermuda National Trust, the Buildings Section were honoured with a recognition certificate for their “sensitive restoration” of the historic building.

The National Trust Awards are presented annually to recognise individuals, organisations, groups and schools who have worked for the benefit of Bermuda and its people, to preserve places of beauty or historical interest, buildings, artefacts, lands and animal and plant life, and to promote their appreciation.
