Witnesses to shooting urged to come forward

Residents may have been disturbed by a late-night party shortly before a confirmed firearms incident in Warwick in the early hours of Sunday.

Police are seeking witnesses to the shooting in the Khyber Pass area, particularly anyone who saw two men riding a black Scoopy.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: “In particular, area residents that might have been disturbed by a party that was going on in the Jones Village area just before the non-injury shooting occurred as well as area residents that might have been awake around the time the shots were fired, are asked to contact the investigative team.

“Also, any persons that walked through or motorists that travelled along the Khyber Pass, Spice Hill Road area between 3am and 4am the morning of Sunday that might have seen two men riding a black Scoopy motorcycle with their faces covered — the rider wearing a full face visor helmet and the passenger a scarf acting suspiciously — are encouraged to come forward with any information they may have.”

Witnesses or persons with relevant information are urged to contact Detective Sergeant Jason Smith on 717-0864, 247-1739 or e-mail jsmith2@bps.bm.

Alternatively, those that can assist with this investigation are encouraged to call the independent and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.
