Police have released details of a series of temporary road closures that will be implemented for the funeral of constable Latasha Gibson today.

The ceremonial funeral will take place at 1pm in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street in Hamilton.

A police spokesman said: “To accommodate the arrival of the funeral cortege, vehicular access to a section of Cedar Avenue between Church Street and Victoria Street will be temporarily restricted.

“Church Street between Cedar Avenue and Parliament Street will be temporarily closed to traffic from 12.30pm until the conclusion of the funeral.

“However, access to Hamilton MarketPlace car park will be allowed. Vehicles will not be able to park on the north side of Church Street between Cedar Avenue and Parliament Street from 6am until the conclusion of the funeral at about 3pm.”
