Traffic controls are set to be in place on Rural Hill this weekend as Belco conducts work in the area in the wake of a recent outage.

According to a company spokeswoman, work is set to begin at 6.30pm tomorrow in the eastbound lane between Stowe Hill and Lovers Lane in Paget.

“This work is necessary to carry out repairs to a 33 kV transmission cable that faulted on Sunday evening,” the spokeswoman said. “Work is anticipated to continue through Sunday, August 27.

“Motorists are advised to approach with caution while work is ongoing and, with the exception of critical access, to use alternative routes.

“We appreciate the patience of motorists and area residents while this essential repair work is being carried out and apologise for any inconvenience.”
