Police have identified an elderly cruise ship passenger who died while snorkelling yesterday morning.

Stuart Rothfield, 80, was with a tour group when he was found unresponsive in the waters near Dockyard at around 11am.

Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Information on the nationality of Mr Rothfield was not immediately provided.

“The Bermuda Police Service offers our sincere condolences to the friends and family of the decease,” a release issued today said.
