An event highlighting mental health issues has been postponed due to bad weather and flight delays.

Silence the Shame, a panel discussion led by American music executive Shanti Das, had been due to take place at the Bermuda National Gallery this evening.

A second event which has been postponed, Savvy Sessions, a platform for artists to showcase their talent in front of a small audience and music industry professionals from around the world, had been scheduled for tomorrow at the City Hall.

Anthony Blakey, CEO of Savvy Entertainment, said in a statement: “While we are extremely disappointed that these events will not be taking place this weekend, we truly believe in putting safety first.

“We are working diligently to book new dates and will inform the public accordingly. It is unfortunate that weather was not on our side considering the important message Silence the Shame brings and the new opportunities for artist in Bermuda Savvy Sessions brings.

“We want the public to know that we have no intention of cancelling the event but postpone it until further notice.”

The event will be rescheduled and the public will be notified.
