Fire officers promoted

Three Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service firefighters today celebrated their promotions.

Lieutenants Aaron Denkins, Troy Furbert and Mark Taylor all stepped up to Divisional Officer.

Wayne Caines, Minister of National Security, said: “It is always a proud occasion when we can celebrate the commitment and service of the men and women of our uniformed services.

“The three officers promoted today represent the best of Bermuda and among the best within the ranks of the BFRS.

“heir service has been enhanced by supportive families and it was a pleasure to welcome them as they too marked this occasion.”

Mr Denkins began his career as a recruit firefighter in 1996, and progressed through the ranks in the operations and fire prevention divisions.

His new role will be senior fire prevention officer.

Mr Furbert began his career with BFRS as a recruit in 1988 and won promotions the operations and training divisions.

He will now take over as senior officer of the training division.

Mr Taylor began his firefighting career in 1994 and worked with with the United Sates Navy and BAS-Serco.

He joined the BFRS in 2007 and worked his way up in the airport operations and structural operations divisions.

His new assignment will be divisional officer of operations.
