The Salvation Army will kick off its Christmas kettle campaign on Thursday.

The choir from West Pembroke School along with the Salvation Army brass band will open the event taking place at City Hall beginning at 12.30pm.

Charles Gosling, Mayor of Hamilton, and Zane DeSilva, Minister of Social Development and Sport, are both expected to attend.

Calvin Ming, director of public relations with the Salvation Army, said that the campaign has allowed the organisation to help families make ends meet during the holiday season.

Persons, organisations, churches and businesses interested in fundraising are asked to contact the Salvation Army on 292-0601.
