Three seriously injured in crashes

Three motorcyclists were seriously injured in separate accidents less than six hours apart yesterday.

A woman suffered serious head injuries after her bike crashed in Paget just before 8pm.

A police spokesman said the woman was rushed to hospital after the accident, which happened on South Road near Coral Beach tennis courts.

Traffic was diverted while specialist officers examined the scene.

A second rider was injured after his bike hit a wall. The accident happened in the area of North Shore Road and Limehouse Lane.

A police spokesman said: “The victim has been taken to the hospital and his condition appears to be serious.”

Another rider suffered serious injuries after his bike was in collision with a truck.

The accident happened on Wilkinson Avenue, near the entrance to Crystal Caves, just before 2.30pm.

A police spokesman said: “It appears that a truck and a motorcycle travelling in opposite directions collided. The rider of the motorcycle has been taken to hospital and his condition is believed to be serious.”

Police have appealed for witnesses to all three crashes.
