A pharmacy in the West End has held a successful health fair.

Caesar’s Pharmacy, in Sandys, organised the event on Saturday to promote good health and offer free screening to people to detect early warning signs of illness.

Community nurses from the Department of Health checked blood pressure and blood glucose levels, and gave advice based on the results.

Liz Boden from asthma charity Open Airways offered advice on management of the condition.

A dental nurse also surveyed people on their knowledge of dental health and handed out free products.

Two nutritionists from E-Fit weighed people, measured their body mass index and gave tips to help them aim for a better muscle-to-fat ratio.

Sarah McKittrick and Winelle Simons of the Premier Health and Wellness Centre gave advice on diabetes, placing an emphasis on the diabetes reversal programme.
