Workout circuit: Crown and Anchor one of the stops

A Hamilton gym has raised more than $1,000 for charity Big Brothers Big Sisters Bermuda.

Beyond Fitness owner and trainer Christine Dailey said: “We decided to host this fundraiser as a fun, healthy take on happy hour. Every organisation is hosting holiday parties at this time of year so we thought it would be a great time to get our community together for a fun workout followed by drinks.”

Ms Dailey said no party was complete without a gift, so the gym decided to give back to the community. Participants spent ten minutes each at the new spin studio and at a Crown and Anchor table.

Ms Dailey added: “After everyone got a chance to work out at each station, you chose your favourite workout to spend your final ten minutes. Our DJ played throughout and for the duration of the evening during drinks.”

Participants made a $20 donation and raised $680, which will be matched by the gym.

The Holiday Happy Hour workout fundraiser was held on Friday. The gym chose to donate to BBBS because they wanted to support an organisation that helps children.

Ms Dailey said: “We feel strongly about fitness being part of kids’s lives — the earlier you learn the importance of staying active the better!

“Recently, we worked with Find Your Grind to support Big Brothers Big Sisters Bermuda during their Strong Man Competition.
