Proud parents Anthonea DeSilva and cricketer Rodney Trott welcomed their baby daughter, Drue Trott, early this Christmas morning.

The Devonshire couple’s baby Drue was born at 12.25am. The Christmas baby has two older bothers, one 10 and the other 5.

The couple said they did not know the sex of the baby beforehand — so it was a complete surprise when she arrived.

“I was really hoping for a girl because we already have two boys and I felt a girl would give some balance in the family,” Mr Trott said.

Ms DeSilva said she was happy to be through the six hours of labour and was quite surprised that Drue arrived on her Christmas Day due date.

She added: “It’s interesting that she was born at 12.25am on 12/25.”

Drue weighed 6lb 14oz.
