Road conditions have improved since police reported an oil spill earlier today.

Police initially warned motorists about a spillage affected both lanes of North Shore Road, all the way from St George’s to Flatts.

However at 12.30pm, a spokesman said: “The relevant Government agencies and police officers on mobile patrol in the eastern parishes have assessed the road surface between North Shore Road, Flatts and St George’s after a reported oil spill earlier this morning.

“At last check road conditions had improved since the original report and there have been no further reports of oil slicks in that area.”
