Women injured in Southampton crash out of hospital

Two women injured in a crash in Southampton on Friday night have been released from hospital.

The accident happened on South Road near Henry VIII Restaurant at around 8.45pm.

Police said on Friday that the car, which was being driven by a 71-year-old Southampton resident, had swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian. The vehicle then hit two parked cars and flipped over.

Police said this morning that the driver and the pedestrian — a 28-year-old Warwick woman — had been discharged from hospital.

Police initially said that the pedestrian was not injured in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 295-0011.
