Mother offers 29 ways to be a good parent

New book: Lorene Phillips

Mother and underwriter Lorene Phillips has published a new book on parenting — with her husband’s assistance.

The book, 29 Keys to Parenting and Win is available now online and will soon appear at local bookstores.

Mrs Phillips said the book was a follow-up to her previous book, 29 Keys to Unlocking your Faith at Work and Win.

She said: “The first book I wrote was written last year and it addressed the keys or principles to succeeding in the workplace.

“I negotiated this second book at the time I approached the publisher for the first book as I believe that good parenting is vital to the success of our homes, communities and country.

“No matter your background, we all desire the very best for our children and this book provided the platform to share transparently the principles that have worked for us.”

Mrs Phillips said both she and her husband, Eugene, wanted to help to inspire parents as they raise their children.

She said: “Our faith is the underpinning of our values and we believe that when we are intentional in how we parent our children we set them up to succeed in life.

“We hope that this book will serve to specifically equip parents, or anyone in charge of raising and/or caring for children, to be more effective by providing some helpful advice and raise their level of awareness around the quality of their parenting.”

Mrs Phillips said she and her husband were already working on the next in the 29 Keys series.

She said the next edition would focus on relationships and be co-authored by a second couple.

She said: “We have been married for 24 years and, like parenting, we want to share our advice and practical applications on how to make your relationship a priority.”
