Recall of Stella beer announced

Gosling’s Limited yesterday announced a voluntary recall by Stella Artois of 33cl bottles of beer that may contain particles of glass.

The recall applies to single bottles of Stella Artois, and is limited to bottles from one third-party production facility that produces a fraction of Stella Artois bottles.

The company said the recall would affect fewer than 0.83 per cent of glass bottles of the beer sold annually in Bermuda.

A flaw was spotted in 33cl bottles that “may cause a small piece of glass to break off and possibly fall into the beer”, according to a statement.

Consumers who have 33cl ounce bottles of Stella Artois beer should visit www.stellaartois.expertinquiry.com for information and instructions on how to find the production codes for potentially-affected product.

Consumers can also call the company’s consumer support team headed by April Gosling-Naude at 295-1123, ext 324. Customers affected by the recall will be eligible for compensation.
