Two injured in head-on collision of bikes

Two people were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles yesterday afternoon.

The collision took place at around 5.20pm on North Shore Road, Pembroke, near the junction with Stepney Lane.

A police spokesman said: “It appears that the two motorcyclists involved were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.

“Both riders, a 19-year-old Pembroke man and a 52-year-old Pembroke woman, were injured, transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later discharged.”

Traffic was temporarily diverted from the area as officers processed the scene.

Police have asked any witnesses to contact Constable Nathan Lawrence on 295-0011.
