Four young Bermudian sportspeople are to appear at the winner’s ceremony for the world triathlon event.

The youngsters — Jessie Marshall, Amber Simons, Nick Pilgrim and Caleb Ingham — will hold the medals at the presentation, which will be broadcast around the world.

The group, who will wear pink shirts and blue Bermuda shorts, said they were “excited about meeting some of their triathlon heroes” over the course of the AS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda. All four are triathletes who also compete in other sports, including in overseas competitions, and they will compete in the age group amateur race as part of the event.

The youngsters were also all members of Tri-Hedz, the triathlon training group for young people where Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Flora Duffy started her career.

The AS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda will be held between Thursday and Saturday, with the major races held on the last day. The men’s Elite Race awards ceremony will be held at 3pm on Saturday and the women’s Elite medals will be presented at 6pm.

The awards will be presented at the MS Amlin World Triathlon arena at Number 1 car park on Hamilton’s Front Street.
