Autopsy confirms senior killed by crash

An autopsy has confirmed that Lois Simmons was killed in a car crash, according to police.

Ms Simmons, 84, died as a result of injuries suffered when the car she was driving struck a tree near Barnes Corner, Southampton at 4.30pm on Friday.

A police spokesman said: “As such, Ms Simmons is officially the fourth road fatality of 2018.

“The investigation regarding this fatal crash continues and any witnesses that have not already come forward — or individuals with knowledge of Ms Simmons’ movements on Friday, May 4 before 4.30pm — are asked to contact Constable Tavin Trott on 295-0011.”
