St George’s Rotary Club holds youth night

Youth night: St George’s Rotary Club welcomes students from Clearwater Middle School and the Whitney Institute for a night of learning

Schoolchildren were told of opportunities offered by the Rotary Club at a youth night held by the St George’s branch.

Rotarians discussed the Interact Club, which hones leadership and public service skills for youngsters aged 12 to 18.

A total of ten Clearwater Middle School pupils and five from the Whitney Institute joined the St George’s Rotary Club meeting at the Grotto Bay Hotel on Monday night. Guest speakers Samuel Debois from France and Louis Friedman from Germany talked about their experience with the Rotary exchange programme and life in a foreign country.

The club raffled off geometry sets and bags of Bermuda bananas. The pupils were asked to write about their evening, with a winner to be picked from each school. All other participants will be given certificates.
