Models are to hit the catwalk in a Salvation Army second-hand fashion show.

The Salvation Army will hold its first fashion show fundraiser on Friday, June 8.

Beverly Daniels, executive director of community services at the Salvation Army, said the organisation was “breaking new ground” with the event.

Ms Daniels said the money raised by the event would remain on-island and be used to support local programmes.

She added: “We also want to raise awareness as to what our thrift store has to offer.”

Geneive Williams-Hart, the 2018 Nurse of the Year, will also appear as the event’s guest model.

Ms Daniels said that models for the event would include Salvation Army staff members.

Tickets for the event, to be held in the organisation’s thrift shop on King Street, Hamilton, cost $5.

Ms Daniels said ticket holders would be entered into prize draws throughout the evening, and that the ticket could be redeemed for up to $5 towards any purchases made in the shop. Tickets can be bought at the thrift shop or at the doort.

The show begins at 6pm. Refreshments will be served.
