Bike rider had bag of cocaine

A man pulled over by police for poor driving was caught with cocaine, Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday.

Omar Young, 44, was stopped on North Shore Road in Pembroke after officers saw him driving on the wrong side of the road and overtaking other vehicles on blind corners.

When Young, from Devonshire, stopped his bike, police saw him take something from his pocket and drop it on the ground.

It was later found to be 0.55 grammes of cocaine in a bag.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Young $750.
