Golf clinic to raise cash for Family Centre

Turtle Hill golf course at the Fairmont Southampton

A children’s charity is to hold a golf clinic and dinner for youngsters on Wednesday.

Up to 80 youngsters aged between 5 and 16 will get instruction from golf professionals at the Fairmont Southampton’s Turtle Hill Golf Course as part of the event, organised by Family Centre.

The children will also get a pizza party at the hotel with drinks and snacks donated by food wholesaler Butterfield & Vallis and drinks firm Barritt’s after their class.

Participants will also get a gift from Family Centre.

There are two time slots available, a 5.30pm start or 6.15pm start, and slots must be picked in advance.

Martha Dismont, executive director of Family Centre, said: “We are so happy to be partnering, once again, with Tokio Millennium, as the title sponsor of this event, to offer this fun and informative golf clinic for children and their families.

“We are also thankful to the Fairmont Southampton for hosting the event, Colonial Insurance for being a secondary sponsor, and of course, to Chris Brough and Bermuda Junior Golf for supporting the event and providing volunteers.”

Ms Dismont added: “The Golf Clinic is a wonderful opportunity for children to feel love and respect from adults.

“We encourage friends and families to come and participate, to learn a bit more about the game of golf, and to enjoy an evening meal together.”

Registration for the event is free and the deadline for entry is tomorrow at 4pm.

Children taking part should wear sneakers and sports clothing. To register call 232-1116 or e-mail info@tfc.prevention.bm.
