Brown the athlete to be honoured at Howard
Ewart Brown is to be inducted into his old university’s Sports Hall of Fame.
The former premier was a member of the star 1968 track team at the prestigious Howard University in Washington.
The achievements of the squad will be honoured next month. Dr Brown said: “This honour by the university caught me off guard.
“I am very happy for my team-mates who deserve this recognition because they put Howard on the map as far as track and field was concerned.
“It is indeed special and I look forward to the ceremony next month.”
The ceremony will be held on November 16 in Greenbelt, Maryland.
The Hall of Fame game against Rhode Island’s Bryant University will kick off the next day.
