Ghosts and ghouls will take over an historic Devonshire property this weekend as part of a family Hallowe’en festival.

The Bermuda National Trust will hold its third annual FarmFest at the 18th-century Devondale at 33 South Road, Devonshire, tomorrow.

Fun and festivities will take place in the property and its ten acres of woodland.

Alana Anderson, the BNT president, said: “We’ll be hosting game stalls, a haunted house, arts and crafts, food stalls, a tractor display, three-legged races, a bucking bull, pony rides, a costume parade, a mummy competition and much more.

“The event offers a fun day out for families and will expose visitors to a beautiful open space flanked by fields and an historic home, all protected by the BNT.”

She added: “I also want to again thank Debs and Dave Norman, Devondale’s tenants, who have done an amazing job.”

The BNT will hold its annual raffle at 3pm with a BMW i3 electric car as the top prize.

Tickets are on sale in the Washington Mall today and can also be purchased from the BNT’s headquarters or by calling 236-6483.

There will be plants and baked goods for sale.

The event is free and will run from 10am to 4pm.

Guests can park at Lagoon Drive opposite the Botanical Gardens on South Road and will be shuttled by minibus to Devondale.
