Fire service tackles Warwick blaze

No injuries have been reported after an apartment fire in Warwick this afternoon.

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a 911 call for the fire on Crown Lane at about 3.30pm.

A spokesman for BFRS said that firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the apartment.

He added: “Firefighters entered the residence and proceeded to ventilate the apartment as the flames were extinguished by a fractured water line.”

The spokesman said that no one was in the apartment at the time.

He added: “The apartment received extensive smoke and heat damage.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
