RUBiS Energy Bermuda Ltd. is pleased to report that the 2018 Edition of their “Fuelling 4 a Cause” promotion allowed the Company to donate over $30,000 to twelve (12) local charities.

In the 3rd year of the promotion, during a 4-week period during November and December of 2018, RUBiS donated 5¢/gallon of fuel sold to twelve (12) selected charities, and each charity was on hand to accept their awards at a presentation hosted by RUBiS on Thursday, 28th February 2019.

Mr. Graham Redford, Managing Director of RUBiS, said, “We believe strongly in supporting the charities and organizations that do so much to improve the quality of life for many of our Island’s residents.”

The charities that received donations were:

Charity Donation

Action on Alzheimer’s and Dementia $ 3,606.84

Bermuda Organ Donor Association $ 2,611.32

Bermuda Sloop Foundation, The $ 1,799.86

Centre Against Abuse $ 2,795.02

Jermaine Simons, Sales Manager of RUBiS said, “In addition to the 5¢/gallon contribution, we provided a further incentive to the charities and to our customers. The charities were given an opportunity to win a bonus based on who was the most creative in using &/or most effectively used the media to boost awareness of the promotion and to get volunteers and supporters to vote for their organization via the RUBiS Facebook page. That bonus was won by St. John’s Ambulance Bermuda for their efforts on both Facebook and Instagram.”

Mr. Simons continued, “For our RUBiS Rewards members, every 200th RUBiS Rewards member was given the opportunity to select any of these charities and award an additional $100.00 towards today’s presentation, plus receive $100.00 in Free Fuel for themselves. We had close to 100 customers choose that option, which represented almost an additional $10,000.00 to be shared.”

Mr. Redford concluded by saying, “On behalf of RUBiS, I would like to thank our valued customers for their continued patronage, which allows us to be able to provide these funds to these worthwhile charities.”
