A private plane en route from the US to the Caribbean was forced to divert to Bermuda today.

A spokeswoman for airport operators Skyport said: “A private aircraft not scheduled to arrive in Bermuda landed safely at the LF Wade International Airport at 12:30pm after the pilot experienced difficulty.

“He was travelling to St. Maarten from Delaware and diverted to Bermuda. No other passengers were onboard.”
