Workforce Development education grants
A total of 15 students have won scholarship awards from the Department of Workforce Development.
Lovitta Foggo, the Ministry of Labour, Community Affairs and Sport, presented the winners with National Technical Vocational Training awards, worth up to $10,000 a year, in a ceremony last month.
She also presented a further four Technical and Vocational Education and Training awards, worth up to $5,000, and ten Bermuda College scholarship awards, designed to cover tuition fees and expenses.
Ms Foggo highlighted the wide variety of subjects among the group.
These include mathematics and actuarial science, neuroscience, microbiology and immunology, radiology technology, nursing and cybersecurity.
Ms Foggo said: “This Government recognises the significant costs that can be incurred by those pursuing further education, so this year we are once again pleased to support 29 more Bermudians in their career pursuits.
“We will continue to pave the way for Bermudians so that they can prepare for the changing local and global work environment.”
