Renewed appeal for help to find Chavelle

Missing woman: Chavelle Dillon-Burgess

Police addressed the murder investigation into a missing woman, Chavelle Dillon-Burgess, who has not been seen since April.Stephen Corbishley, the Commissioner of Police, spoke yesterday after Black Lives Matter demonstrators paused for a moment of silence for Ms Dillon-Burgess outside Hamilton Police Station.The crowd were also addressed by a woman who said to those allegedly involved in her disappearance: “We’re not going to stop until you’re all brought to justice.”Mr Corbishley said of the case: “We’ve got some really good support and advice from overseas investigators, particularly those that have been involved in such cases where the person missing who could potentially be deceased has not been located.“The particular advice we’re receiving is around search strategies, the techniques that we use for that, and we have got the ability to do the focused areas.”Mr Corbishley added: “We continue to have an individual that is on police bail.”A 39-year-old man was arrested and released last month in connection with the investigation.Mr Corbishley said inquiries continued on “matters surrounding their, perhaps, suspected involvement”.He said he remained “absolutely convinced there are people in the community that know more than has been said so far”.
