The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo (BAMZ) regrets to inform the public that visiting camp groups cannot be accommodated this summer, for public health reasons.

Indoor and outdoor spaces at BAMZ make it very hard for large groups to maintain the required physical distancing from other groups, particularly in the aquarium hall and playground.

Therefore, only parties under ten people will be accepted at any one time and they must all be members of the same household.

Principal curator Dr. Ian Walker explained, “Since fully reopening on 13th July, we became aware that a few camps bypassed the COVID-19 safety protocols in place, by breaking up their groups to get onto the facility and then reconvening as a large group once they were in the aquarium.

This is an unsafe practice and groups found to be doing this will be asked to leave the property.

We take the health of the general public, our staff and animals seriously and ask that visitors help us in this regard to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all.”

While walk-in visits are still accepted at BAMZ, in order to reduce any wait times and ensure the appropriate number of guests – following Ministry of Health COVID-19 mitigation protocols – it is once again recommended that members of the public make an appointment to visit in advance online at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0a4ba8aa2ca1fc1-bamz2.
