Roadworks in Pembroke, East End

The Ministry of Public Works issued the following advice about roadworks near Belco, and in the East End:Roadworks near BelcoThe Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists and pedestrians that there will be two road closures taking place simultaneously for the construction of the North Power Plant at BELCO.The roads being closed are:• Tribe Road # 2 - between St. John’s Road and Cemetery Road, and • Cemetery Road - between Cemetery Lane and the bridge to Gorham’s Limited. These road closures is being extended from August 31st, 2020 through December 31st, 2020.Motorists and pedestrians will be advised to use alternative routes via John’s Road and Cemetery Lane during these times. There will be no access granted for the public during these road closures.Traffic controls will be under direction of BELCO’s representatives.The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.Should there be any questions regarding these works, please direct queries to BELCO’s communication department, at communicationdepartment@belco.bm. East End roadworksThe Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the ongoing BELCO trench work through the Kindley Field ballpark and along Southside Road shoulder has now reached St. David’s Road and will crossover St. David’s Road and go along northern shoulder towards Stokes Point Bridge. This trench work across St. David’s Road will require temporary road closure on St. David’s Road. This temporary road closure for St. David’s Road will start from Swing Bridge roundabout near bus stops to the Police Station junction. All traffic will be rerouted via Kindley Field Park onto Southside Road (Wallers Point Road). This closure will take place during Monday August 3rd, 2020 through Wednesday August 5th, 2020. The St. David’s roundabout bus stop will remain operational. The bus stop on St. David’s Road near police station will be temporarily relocated onto Southside Road. Starting Thursday August 5th St. David’s Road will be reopened and the shoulder trench work will continue through to Friday August 14th 2020. Working hours will be from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.Traffic controls will be under direction of D&J Excavating & Landscaping Services Ltd. representatives and will be managed through stop & go signs and/or traffic control signals.The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.Should there be any questions regarding these lane closures, please direct queries to the attention of Mr. Jonathan Pedro, Project Manager for BELCO at #295-5111 ext. 1441.
