A pharmacy has donated school supplies to teachers as they prepared to return to the classroom.Par-la-Ville Pharmacy, on Church Street in Hamilton, handed out gift baskets to Tomorrow’s Voices, an autism education organisation, and Prospect Preschool including printer paper, tape and dispensers, binder dividers, highlighters, pens, and whiteout pens. Jazmyne Kristoff, a sales representative at the pharmacy, said: “This year has been a rollercoaster for many. “We understand that the only way we will get through this is by working together as a community and offering what we can, where we can.“We decided to include Tomorrow’s Voices because it is not government-funded and we chose Prospect Preschool because they stayed open during the pandemic, offering services to parents who had to go to work and needed to have someone mind their children.”Ms Kristoff said the drive was inspired by a quote she had found online. The quote read: “The most valuable investment we can make is in our children’s education. When we make education a priority, we give our children opportunities.” Ms Kristoff added: “That is what led us to donate to the schools, we wanted to make a difference by investing into the community. If we don’t work together as a community we don’t have much left.”
