Sean McPhillips has been appointed as senior vice-president, head of US primary casualty, at Aspen Insurance. He will lead planning, strategy and execution of the primary casualty operation of the company throughout the US.

Aspen Insurance is the insurance segment of Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited.

Mr McPhillips joined Aspen earlier this year as a vice-president of primary and excess casualty. He was previously vice-president and head of primary casualty for CapSpecialty. He will be based in New York and report to David Cohen, president and chief underwriting officer.
