Insurance firm XL Catlin has made a series of senior appointments.

Jonathan Gale, chief executive, London reinsurance, will become chief executive of Bermuda reinsurance.

And Rob Littlemore, underwriting director for London reinsurance, will fill Mr Gale’s former post.

Both will report to Charles Cooper, chief executive Bermuda reinsurance, who will become chief executive of the firm’s reinsurance business.

Greg Hendrick, head of XL Catlin’s global reinsurance operations, but who will take over as president property and casualty looking after the company’s entire P&C operation, said: “Our London and Bermuda units together represent over 40 per cent of our reinsurance operation’s premiums.

“These are important markets for us. Jon and Rob have the right experience and leadership skills to continue our drive for profitable growth while ensuring that, wherever our clients engage with us around the world, they receive the same consistent high level of service and flexibility of approach.”

All the changes are effective from next month.
