PwC’s Kelly named as ‘one to watch’

Making an impact: Katie Kelly, of PwC Bermuda, has been included in Captive Review magazine’s list of eight captive insurance professionals to watch in 2018

Bermudian-based Katie Kelly has been named in a select list of captive industry professionals to watch in 2018.

Ms Kelly is captive insurance director with PwC Bermuda. She is included in Captive Review magazine’s “Ones to Watch in 2018” list, which features eight professionals who are “becoming increasingly prominent in the captive industry and are expected to have a big impact in their area of expertise” during the next 12 months.

In an article on the professionals to watch, Captive Review said of Ms Kelly: “The captive practice at PwC Bermuda is likely to be kept busy in 2018 as clients increasingly look to review and reassess their structures, and Kelly is an integral part of the division.

“She joined PwC Bermuda in 2005, and works with single parent captives, associations and commercial re/insurers.

“Heavily involved in the Bermuda Captive Conference, Kelly is also passionate about potential captive business originating from Latin America.”

Earlier this month, London-based Captive Review published its Power 50 list of the most powerful and influential individuals globally within the captive insurance industry today. The list features four island-based executives.

Ms Kelly said: “It’s an honour to be included in Captive Review’s Ones to Watch in 2018. This recognition is a testament to the strength of our dedicated captive insurance team at PwC Bermuda and the work we do in supporting the continued growth of the industry on the island, including the 2017 survey of captive insurance providers for the Bermuda Insurance Management Association.

“It also shows the high regard Bermuda has as the largest centre for captive insurance in the world.”
