Hamilton Insurance Group has appointed Brenton Slade to a new capital management unit.

The unit, called Hamilton Capital Partners, is tasked with further developing Hamilton’s capital management capabilities. Mr Slade will take up his position as senior vice-president on June 19, and will report to Jonathan Reiss, Hamilton Insurance Group’s chief financial officer.

Mr Slade was previously chief operating officer with The Horseshoe Group, and before that was chief marketing and capital markets officer for Flagstone Reinsurance.

Pina Albo, Hamilton’s chief executive officer, said: “In today’s evolving market, meeting the needs of our clients presents a host of opportunities for real innovation as far as fully integrated customised solutions are concerned.

“Managing capital for third parties is one of these opportunities, and Brent has been at the centre of this burgeoning sector of our industry for almost 15 years. We know his impressive track record will stand us in good stead as we develop Hamilton Capital Partners.”
