Lancashire announces promotions

Lancashire Holdings Limited has announced two promotions to fill the roles performed by Sylvain Perrier, who will switch to a constancy position in the new year.

Mr Perrier has been with Lancashire since it was formed, as group chief actuary from 2006 and chief underwriting officer for Lancashire Insurance Company Limited in Bermuda from March 2013.

James Irvine is being promoted to the role of chief underwriting officer. He is currently deputy to Mr Perrier, and has been with the company for eight years. His appointment takes effect from October 1, subject to immigration and regulatory approvals.

Ben Readdy, who also joined Lancashire in 2010, is being promoted to the group chief actuary position, he is currently deputy. The appointment will take effect from January 1, subject to immigration and regulatory approvals.

Paul Gregory, chief underwriting officer at Bermudian-based Lancashire Holdings, congratulated Mr Irvine and Mr Readdy on their appointments. He said: “James has played a key role in the development of LICL’s business and underwriting strategy and will continue to uphold our very high standards of underwriting discipline, client service and risk management.

“Ben has played an important part in the development and management of the group’s actuarial functions and I know will continue to bring insight and rigour to his new role.

“Finally, I would also like to thank Sylvain for all his hard work and support in the roles to date, and I look forward to continuing to work with him as a consultant to the group going forward.”
