Rowling leads way for Swan’s

Thirteen members of Swan’s Running Club took part in this year’s Peachtree 10K road race in Atlanta, Georgia.

The famous event is one of the world’s biggest 10Ks in terms of the number of competitors. In last month’s race there were 24,523 finishers.

It has been a popular attraction for Bermuda runners for many years, particularly members of Swan’s club.

This year Trent Rowling led the way for the island contingent, finishing in 49min 51sec.

He was followed by veteran runner Mark Albouy in 51:06, and Zina Jones in 56:21.

The overall winner was Leonard Korir in 28:16, while the first woman was Aliphine Tuliamuk in 32:49.

Other local finishers included: Marla Smith in 56:47, Denise Carey in 58:17, Mayberline Black in 1:03:08, Kim Burgess in 1:04:19, Florence Sharpe in 1:04:35, Alshia Luggo in 1:05:00, Edwina Arorash in 1:13:47, Richelene Woolridge in 1:20:04, Sandra Ming in 1:22:55, and Donna Mae Arorash in 1:36:23.
