The annual Lindo’s to Lindo’s road race on Sunday has been postponed in anticipation of bad weather forecast for this weekend.

Heavy rain and high winds are expected, with the organisers taking the early step to reschedule the race for Sunday, May 13.

All participants entered for the race will have their registration automatically carried over to the new date.

Zach Moniz, Lindo’s Family Foods manager, said: “We are sorry to disappoint those who were looking forward to taking part in the Lindo’s to Lindo’s this weekend.

“However, in the interest of public safety and for the enjoyment of participants we felt it was best to move the date of the event. We look forward to seeing everyone take part on Sunday, May 13.”

New participants can register for the new date by visiting www.racedayworld.com, pick up a form at Lindo’s stores or print off a form at http://www.lindos.bm/lindos-lindos-road-race-2018/.

The event will raise funds for the Bermuda Diabetes Association’s education programmes, as well as the renovation of a building purchased to house a fully comprehensive Diabetes Resource Centre.

The races, sanctioned by the Bermuda National Athletics Association, have been organised in conjunction with the BDA and the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club, T-shirts have been sponsored by Validus.

The Dash at Dark event, scheduled for tonight, has also been postponed because of the bad weather. The race has been rescheduled for Friday, April 13.
