The second event of the cross-country series will take place tomorrow when West End Athletics Club host races at Chaplin Bay.

Five races are scheduled in the series ahead of the national championships on December 8 at Clearwater. The third event will take place on October 27 at Fort Scaur, hosted by Mid Atlantic Athletic Club.

“We had a very successful first event at the Arboretum and are looking forward to an even greater turnout as some of the athletes were competing at the Carifta Triathlon Games,” said Donna Raynor, president of the Bermuda National Athletics Association, referring to the recent Games in Tobago when 20 junior athletes represented Bermuda.

Online registration for tomorrow’s cross-country races is available at www.trackiereg.com. Entry fee is $10 and $15 for the national championships. Races get under way at 8.30am with the younger age groups.

There will be series winners in age group, a point system with points from each race and the top three in each age group awarded prizes. A separate champion in each age group will be awarded at the national championships.
