Saltus shine in schools semi-finals
Saltus are through to both senior schools finals this evening at the National Sports Centre after their boys over-16 team edged CedarBridge Academy 4-3 in the semi-finals last night.
Tyquan Perinchief netted twice for Saltus and Neil Figureido and Matthew Lampit the others, while Jameko Mallory scored two and Darrin Woolridge the other for CedarBridge. Berkeley Institute will face Saltus after they trounced Warwick Academy 5-1 with Elijah Darrell scoring twice and Jocoa Thomas, Jayone Fox and D’Andre Wainwright also scoring.
Saltus already booked their spot in the senior girls final after a 4-2 win over Bermuda High School recently. Their opponents will be CedarBridge, who blanked Berkeley 3-0 with Samira Lowe Darrell scoring a brace and Dru Bascome the other.
In the Primary girls semi, Katherine Bean Rosario netted all four for West End Primary in their 4-2 win over Saltus.
Warwick Academy beat Harrington Sound 3-1 to set up their meeting with West End this morning. Isabelle Simmons scored twice for the winners and Samara Darrell the other.
In the Primary boys final Saltus will meet Somersfield Academy. Saltus defeated St George’s Prep 8-1, with Sachiel Ming and Thomas Eliason scoring hat-tricks. Somersfield beat Somerset Primary 7-1 with Malachai Belboda, Rajun Cod and Eli Richardson scoring twice and Ayden Gardener the other.
The Middle School girls semi-final saw TN Tatem thrash Warwick Academy 8-0 as Zakayza Parsons scored four goals and Danni Watson two.
In the Middle School under-13 boys match, Warwick Academy beat Saltus on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Sam Williamson (Warwick) and Noah Botelho (Saltus) scoring. Whitney will face Warwick in the final after their 2-0 win over Dellwood. Jahzai Swan and Donte Scraders scored.
In the Middle School over-13 semis, Saltus beat Warwick Academy 1-0 and Sandys Secondary edged Whitney 1-0 with a goal from Kymanai McNeil.
Saltus are in the Middle School girls final after Emily Hartwig scored twice and Jailyn Boddington another in a 3-1 win over Whitney Institute.
