Bobb claims state championship titles haul

Caitlyn Bobb enjoyed a memorable Maryland Public Secondary School Athletic Association 2A State Championships after picking up four state titles.

Representing Harford Tech at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex, the Bermudian track star picked up two individual and two team honours, in an impressive afternoon.

In the women’s varsity 4x200m Relay, Bobb led off the team in a split time of 25.13secs, as the team raced home to victory, clocking in at 1min 44.62 secs. They followed that up with victory in the Women’s 4x400m relay, in a winning time of 4.05.03, with Bobb clocking a 58.53 split.

In the individual disciplines, Bobb added further medal glory in the Women’s Varsity 300m, clocking 40.54, as well as also claiming victory in the Women’s Varsity 500m, crossing the line in 1.16.30.

“We worried about placing but we turned all that nervous energy about into straight positivity and doing what we’ve practiced,” said Bobb, who will be representing Bermuda at the Carifta Games in the Cayman Islands in April, speaking to the Mile Split website.

“Coming here we knew we could win, finally get some personal records and do all the stuff that we need to get done.”
