Tobacco Bay has won the Expert’s Choice Award with the website TripExpert.

The St George’s beach, operated by Beach Boys Ltd, is the first in Bermuda to win the international award, according to East End MP Renée Ming.

Ms Ming said in a statement: “I am particularly proud as Tobacco Bay is in my constituency, so it already has a special place in my heart.

“Of course, I am slightly biased for another good reason as my son is one of the many dynamic employees in the very talented group of ‘beach ambassadors’.

“When vision meets opportunity and that opportunity is backed by commitment, you find excellence. Raymond Walker, Belcario Thomas and Dennie O’Connor, you have done amazingly well with your product and this award is proof of your hard work. I appreciate the guidance that your young team of employees receives under your tutelage. Congratulations and thank you for putting our little treasure on the world map.”
