School record for Minors
Dage Minors set an 800 metres record for Franklin Pierce University at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University in New Jersey on Friday.
Minors, a senior, finished ninth as he laid down a school record of 1min 49.39sec, a time which met the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying mark, which Minors had already met earlier in the season.
The time was just 39 hundredths of a second off the automatic qualifying mark, the fasted in both the Northeast-10 Conference and the East Region.
Minors also competed in the 400, finishing 24th to move up to ninth in the NE10 ranking with a time of 50.17. Franklin Pierce had another good showing in the 4x400 relay where Minors was part of the team that finished fourth after posting a time of 3:19.88.
The Ravens return to the track this weekend when they travel to Philadelphia for the three-day Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, which starts on Thursday.
