Outerbridge puts pen to paper for Hartford

Next level: Outerbridge signs her letter of intent to compete for Hartford, an NCAA Division I University as Academy track and cross country coach Chip Langmaid looks on

Bermudian Quinnae Outerbridge has signed a letter of intent to join the University of Hartford on an athletics scholarship.

Outerbridge, a senior at St Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, New England, will compete for the NCAA Division I school in track and field.

She has excelled in cross country and middle-distance running at St Johnsbury and is the defending outdoor Vermont Division I state champion in the 800 metres.

She also won the indoor 1,000 metres and 1,500 during the winter.

“I am very excited and proud to be going to the University of Hartford,” Outerbridge said. “I know running at the Division I level is going to be challenging, but I am ready to put in the work and compete hard.

“My time living at St Johnsbury Academy has taught me to be independent, and has really helped me academically.

“My coach, Chip Langmaid, has been a huge help to me athletically, which has enabled me to excel in my running.

“I have grown so much over these years being here and a part of this team. I am happy to have spent these past three years at St Johnsbury Academy, and I will miss everyone very much when I graduate.”
