Usain Bolt has not given up hope of playing professional footballer and says there is a deal in the "pipeline".

Bolt, who visited Bermuda on Tuesday in his role as Digicel's “chief speed officer”, has trained with Norwegian top-flight side Stromsgodset and Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the past few months.

“There are things in the pipeline that I'm working on,” the eight-times Olympic sprint champion told The Royal Gazette.

“I try to wait until things are solid and I know exactly what I'm doing before I start saying what's happening.”

The 31-year-old played in a Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford earlier this month, captaining a World XI including Manchester City's Yaya Touré and former Holland midfielder Clarence Seedorf, against an England XI featuring Michael Owen and distance runner Mo Farah. Bolt, an avid Manchester United fan, said he is supporting Argentina at the World Cup.
